The wooden products by Woody Lab are born in a small craftsmen studio where wooden cutting boards are realized as well as other furnishing accessories such as unique tables and lamps, by continually experimenting the combination of different materials in the search of the perfect design. Woody Lab is a Company which comes from an idea of Simone Lazzeri, based on the knowhow of the family artisan woodworking started by his father and uncle in 1964 in Valdicastello Carducci, a small hamlet in Pietrasanta, province of Lucca, located on a green hill rich of woods and olive trees with sea view. We are in Tuscany, rich area of old craftsmanship excellence. A privileged place where creativity, aesthetic sense and competence have always been moulded into wonderful objects. In particular, the tiny Pietrasanta where we are based, boasts all over the world a centennial acclaimed reputation for what concerns the artistic processing of marble and bronze. The ability and the creativity of our teachers have drawn the attention of big artists such as Henry Moore, who stayed in Pietrasanta for long periods, or Fernando Botero and Igor Mitoraj, who even settled here between vineyards and olive groves in the shadow of the Apuan Alps. Pietrasanta has given to Simone the opportunity to meet local artisans and artists of the marble and bronze field who inspired him for realizing luxurious and fine wooden objects, able to enhance local craftsmanship. Woody Lab's main products are solid wood cutting boards characterized by modern geometrical decorations which bring luxury and elegance on the table, always respecting the naturalness of wood. The most used woods for the objects are maple, ash, walnut, olive, beech, oak and durmast, which are combined with finer and exotic materials such as wenge, padouk and iroko.
